Aluminum is environmentally valuable! With formability and the possibility to finish surfaces aluminum offers a high degree of freedom of design during the planning phase of functional and sustainable buildings. Furthermore, modern facades with outstanding thermal insulation values can be built with aluminum. As a building envelope a facade contributes to a positive life cycle assessment of the building. The systems' material thicknesses, which are adapted to the relevant requirements ensure a small consumption of raw materials, mechanical robustness and corrosion resistance! This results in a long service life and therefore high sustainability. Aluminum is safe for human consumption. Once it is extracted it can be recycled while all original quality characteristics are kept in the material cycle and even installation- and production waste materials are recyclable.
