Sustainability @ AluKönigStahl

With Schüco aluminum systems from AluKönigStahl you build on sustainability

The extensive system portfolio of our partner Schüco enables us to meet the complex requirements of sustainable architecture.

Our systems include numerous energy-saving champions - up to passive house level.

In addition to sustainable climate protection, less energy consumption also means a positive effect on cost efficiency.

The challenges of the future lie in the safe and economically and ecologically sensible use of resources and materials.

For the construction industry, high-quality recycling and the return to a closed materials cycle are already very important today - raw materials are limited. After all, global demand for building materials is rising and will become increasingly difficult to meet in the future. Aluminum scores particularly well here, as it can be recycled almost 100%.

Schüco sets standards with Cradle to Cradle

When it comes to sustainability, our partner Schüco relies on a cradle-to-cradle approach. This describes the circulation of materials in closed cycles. After use, materials should be returned to the technical cycle instead of becoming "waste".

    The process at the core
Production processes for building products require forward-looking planning - from manufacture and use to dismantling, reprocessing and reuse as a raw material. The prerequisite for this is the use of pollutant-free materials and their manufacture using renewable energies. In this respect, Cradle to Cradle follows the principle of optimizing production processes in such a way that little or no waste is produced.

    The Cardle to Cradle certificate
The certificate is issued by the independent Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute (C2CPII) in San Francisco. For this, Schüco must prove and document compliance with the certification standards. All documents are submitted to the certification body for a conformity check. Only if all requirements are met is the certificate issued. In addition, recertification is required every two years.

Numerous Schüco systems are already C2C bronze or silver certified. The certified products can also be planned and individually combined with the SchüCal design software.

The certified product portfolio is being continuously expanded and in the next few years all aluminum systems will be certified. This criterion is naturally included in the planning of new products.

Certified systems can be recognized by this label:
